- Hosted an exhibition of the “Year of the Pig” winning posters created by Bay Area youth, in collaboration with the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools.

Hosted a Lunar New Year Appreciation Banquet with traditional Chinese New Year dishes, live performances and activities to celebrate with the community and organizations.
- Held an exhibition for the “Year of the Dog” winning posters created by Bay Area youth, in collaboration with the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools.

- From 2012-2017, celebrated the Lunar New Year with an exhibition of the “Year of the Rooster” winning posters created by Bay Area youth, in collaboration with the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools.

In 2016, hosted a "Walk, Run, Fun! Sister County 5K" fundraising event.
- Promoted the 2014 Sister Cities International Youth Leadership Summit.
- Hosted a Youth Ambassador Delegation from Taiwan in June 2013.
- In 2013, hosted a Taiwan Movie Night in collaboration with the Overseas Chinese Affairs Council, Taiwan Trade Center San Francisco, and Firebird Youth Chinese orchestra to celebrate the Double Tenth National Day of Taiwan.
- Celebrated the "Two Decades of Friendship" between the Santa Clara County and Hsinchu County, Taiwan by hosting a movie festival.

Approved a donation of $2,000 to the victims of Typhoon Morakot. Commissioners presented the donation to the director general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, the diplomatic representative of the Republic of China.
- Sponsored and hosted a traditional Hakka Taiwanese Puppet Show and Talk, highlighting the arts and culture of the second-largest ethnic group in Hsinchu County and Taiwan.
- Hosted a successful special event that featured ribbon dancers from Taiwan.
- Established a mutually supportive relationship with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office.
- Conducted goodwill delegation visits, at Commissioners’ own expense, to Taiwan to share best practices and strengthen our Sister County relationship.

Presented a painting entitled “The Light of Silicon Valley,” donated by Taiwanese-American artist Jenny Ching-Yu Wu, to Hsinchu County.
- In March 2007, the County of Santa Clara, California, USA / Hsinchu County, Taiwan Sister County Commission delegation visited Hsinchu County and several other cities and counties in Taiwan.
- In August 2004, a delegation of officials from Hsinchu County, Taiwan, were guests of the County of Santa Clara during a cultural visit to the United States.
